Memorial Day

It was so nice having a long weekend! Chris and I were happy to spend it with our friends Jason and Cassie with a yummy BBQ over at their place, some game time playing what else other than our famous spades boys vs. girls although they killed us this time :( and a second Bees game! The Bees played against the Fresno Grizzlies today! We won and I was able to find a Bees shirt that I liked just in time for the game to begin! The Bee happened to come over for a snap shot with us! I am really grateful for Chris and his support! Jason really helps entertain with his amazing heckling skills! Thanks to a wonderful husband and good company, we had a really nice Memorial Day :)

Daniel and Aaron's Birthday~

While moving the Draper home to the Lehi home and California home we were also able to have pizza and ice cream together in recognition of Daniel's birthday which was the 13th before James and Fran went on a Mediterranean Cruise with Aunt Diana and Uncle Dan from the 13th - 28th! How lucky are they to celebrate their 30th Anniversary in Europe! (a month early/June 26th officially) Aaron's 25th Birthday was on the 27th so today we celebrated Aaron's Birthday and finally met his girlfriend Brittney who Aaron has been dating for a little over a month now. After dinner and birthday traditions we all went to Daniel's grave in Sandy. Chris and I drove with Aaron and Brittney and I think they make a really cute couple. It is so nice to see Aaron happy with some companionship! Aaron has a good heart, he will take good care of his companion just as he does his mom.

Yard Update & Date Night~

Wednesday our RV Pad was poured and completed after they had it prepped the day before! Chris and I are so pleased with how it turned out! I was a bit nervous but it turned out so good! neighbors are excited for us and for the others who are still putting in yards! It's so nice to have such friendly and supportive friends and now family! Now that Chris' family is all moved in and they are having their yard put in while they are on their Mediterranean Cruise. They are near completion with their yard!

We spent our Friday date night with Jason and Cassie at a Chinese restaurant in Lindon! It has been really enjoyable to try new places! Chris and I seem to stick with the places that we have already gone to but Cassie has really pulled us out of our usual. Tonight we played games at our house, we called up the Andelin's and they had Derek's Cousin and her husband in town from Cali but the four of them joined us for some Curses and Werewolves! This was the second time that I played in on Curses.. I have to admit that it has been really entertaining to see friends being pulled out of their comfort zone. I was surprised to see that we played till midnight! It's going to be another day of sleeping in tomorrow!

Neighbor get togethers~

Monday after work, Chris and I had a dinner date over at Stephanie and Derek Andelin's home. She introduced me to the non cooked tortillas and ground turkey purchased at Costco which Chris and I loved! It seems so be healthier and it tasted so much better! So there you have it, we had some delicious tacos for dinner followed by the game Rummikub which was a lot of fun! They happened to have two copies of the game so they were so kind to give us one of their games since we enjoyed it so much ha ha!

Tuesday I met up with the girls for GNO (Girls Night Out) at JCW's for some ice cream and socializing! While the other women in the neighborhood do it for adult interaction since they are all stay at home moms, I do it for some girl time other than all the computer nerds/sales people that I am with all day everyday... I love to meet up with the women in the neighborhood! I am really enjoying the nice weather coming our way and having more and more people coming out on walks and or working on their yards... I can't wait to have them put in and feel like we are in a completed development!

Cassie, Jason and us have been on this major kick of spades several times a week so we decided to change it up a bit. Tonight we all went over to Tadd and Sharon's place after they put their three kids to bed to play some Scum! A new card game that was really fun for me! Chris and I actually did pretty good! I got to be Queen while Chris was King during the whole second half of the night! Chris and I have enjoyed staying social. It is important to him and I feel it is healthy to be social and develop more friendships!

Heber Canyon & the Bees!

The Relief Society Retreat up Heber Canyon was a last minute decision as Chris strongly encouraged me to go and get out with the girls! So we rushed home from work Friday, I changed and got my personal things together while Chris packed my bag with my sleeping bag/camping gear while any minute, the neighbor girls were to picked me up at my doorstep. Well, it all worked out until we arrived and there was still snow on the ground! I new than that I was in trouble. I had no idea what Chris packed but being the packer he is, he did packed the basics without the many extra layers that I would need facing SNOW! I have to say that "if" I were to ever go again, I will be bringing my own personal heater! Each cabin had a mini and I mean mini heater that did absolutely nothing! Our cabin consist of Myself, Joanne, Holly, Christina, Brooke who was pregnant and Melissa! Erika was kind enough to sleep in her car with her husband who was one of the priesthood holders that needed to attend. We heard them turn their car on to warm up the car throughout the night while we all stayed up till 2am contemplating on leaving! It was so miserable that it would really be hard for me to be convinced in going again although having a jacket would help! Why I did not think of it earlier, once I got the courage to change into sleepwear, I warmed up really quick in my sleeping bag, we all fell asleep pretty quickly and woke up around 7am. That was when we quickly ate breakfast, packed and went back home! My eyes hurt so bad from the cold and I suffered a major headache and earache throughout the rest of the day but once I made it home, showered and warmed up, I was ready to finish the day.

So Saturday afternoon around 3:30, Chris and I went to our first Bees game with Jason and Cassie! We went early to purchase our tickets, park and take the trax up to the Gateway for some California Pizza Kitchen! It was the Bees vs. Albuquerque New Mexico and it was one of the best baseball games I went to! It went into the last inning and we one by one point with only one out to go! It was so fun and Cassie got to purchase a Bee's shirt supporting Breast Cancer :)

Mothers Day~

This year was a successful day of Mothers Day shopping even with our crazy week! I was so happy and grateful to Chris for his support in recognizing our Mother's. We found a beautiful gold heart shaped necklace with emeralds in it which is my moms Wedding Anniversary stone which was the 10th just one day after Mothers Day. I thought it would match her Anniversary ring she wears which is also a yellow gold with emeralds. Fran however wanted something that was black and silver which I had found during our shopping spree over Conference weekend, so we went back to Tai Pan and purchased a couple!

Mother's day was special, I was so happy to see how much they loved their gifts! I loved hearing Hallie's voice in the background as my mom was opening her gift from us saying "Oh WOW, they must really LOVE you mom!" Children are so innocent and it just made me laugh! James also was here with us this weekend! It was sad at the same time because this was his last planned trip back to Utah besides closing on their Draper home so we went to their Draper ward today to say goodbyes :( I am missing them already.

Busy.. Busy...

Thursday Chris and I took a few hours off work to attend his cousin Geoffrey's wedding lunch in SL. We were grateful to attend and see family relatives again. Chris and I are being sucked dry with work and now working on the yard, that it took Fran to remind us of whats most important in life. I was grateful for the break to step away and enjoy family time for a few hours before diving back into work :/
Chris and I had to pick up more stone Friday after work since Chris turned this into his evening project all this week which used up the first batch of stone. We are more than grateful for the support and sacrifice Josh has made in letting us use his transportation. Jason and Cassie then pulled us out to go Bowling later Friday night while eating at Ihop for a midnight snack!
This caused Chris to have to work on the wall Saturday and I had my nail appointment with Liz at the Brick House Retreat which was a birthday gift from Chris. I was hesitant in doing my nails before we completed the wall but Chris wanted me to have them as much as I did! In return I would give frequent back scratches for the exchange of beautiful hands! I really enjoyed getting pampered! Chris really does take care of me and tries his best to make me feel all dolled up :) When I returned, I came home to Josh helping Chris with the wall. It was not planned because I saw that Josh was still in his biking gear from a morning bike ride. I thought it was so generous of him to spend his Sat. afternoon helping his brother out for an hour or two. I then changed to work on the wall myself before Jason and Cassie saw us and came over. They started to help us out so that we can have some free time which was super nice of them. We ordered some take and bake pizza that Cassie and I picked up while the boys finished up the wall. The boys cleaned up while the pizza cooked and we finished the night playing spades :)

Leveling the yard!

Day 1 is finished! We had the yard leveled out yesterday evening so that we can begin working on our retaining wall :) We now have our fountain after the attempt to deliver the original :( We were so sad to hear that the delivery guy dropped the fountain causing it to break... Glover Nursery was kind enough to remake a similar fountain which was delivered just a couple days later last week. Now I will be sweating bullets having it sit in the back while we complete the retaining wall.

After work this evening Chris and I stopped at Lowe's to pick up the first batch of stone to start the retaining wall thanks to Josh for lending us his truck! This was one project that Chris decided to take on himself so here it goes!
