Wrapping up the weekend~

Yesterday around Noon, Chris and I went to Glover Nursery to see what they had with fountain choices, plants etc. which may I add was a ton of fun! I did not know what to expect since this is our first home and first time experiencing the opportunity to put a yard in! Chris and I fell in LOVE with a set of water fountains. There was a Large version that cost 2k and a smaller version that was more in our price range. I think about how silly we were starring at the 2k dollar fountain contemplating on how we could make it work... Ha what a joke! I now think about what we could do with 2k dollars and wonder why we would even think about considering it lol! We were thinking sick awesomeness or cute... teeter tottering back and forth between the two we went with the "cute" size and used up our gift certificate with the additional purchases required with having a fountain such as the rock, pump etc. which would have added an additional $500 lol! So we left Glover Nursery excited for the delivery of our new fountain and continued on with our day!

We than met up with our friends Jason and Cassie for a dinner date and movie at Jordan Commons! The Japanese food was delicious and the company was fun! Today we played our usual spades girls vs. boys with Jason and Cassie! Girls kicked butt so all in all it was a wonderful weekend!!!

My 25th Birthday!

For my birthday this year, Chris and I decided to take the day off work! We wanted to go to Vegas for a nice little road trip. Working 11 hours days consistently for who knows how long and San Fransisco being the last getaway that we have taken. We both are in a great need to step out of our day to day work, eat and sleep routine. Last minute, we decided that it would be more stressful with the costs of the yard coming up so rather spending the money on having fun, we decided to put it towards the yard... It all worked out though! Chris and I still took the day off so that we can go to Sprinkler World to take care of getting the sprinkler parts ordered and sketched out and than we went to the Rock place in Lehi. We are wanting to put a fountain in our backyard so we needed to look into some stone for a retaining wall. the rain then came in so Chris and I started heading North to Sandy area. We decided to go to the mall, Chris was so kind to let me "splurge" a little on myself which is normally a big no no during any month of giving. I actually still had my Victoria Secret gift card from my Christmas stocking lol so I used it to get me a couple new bras! After which some of our neighbor friends with the last minute invite given joined us for a Birthday dinner at the India House! It was so good! I had not been there since we went on a double with Jennifer and Ryan Andrus a few years back. After enjoying our wonderful dinner which seemed to be the first time at the India House for everyone else, they all came over to our place for some amazingly fun game time!!! We played Curses, Werewolves and Catch Phrase till midnight with some delicious smoothie drinks made by my wonderful husband! I couldn't have asked for a more entertaining night with our friends.

I am so grateful to our friends for all supporting me on this special day with our last minute decision making! Birthdays are emotional for me. One, I feel I am getting old and two, I am an emotional person. It was hard feeling 25 without having children running around. I always imagined being like my mother. Getting married and having lots of kids at a young age (which she had 3 kids by this time)! I do of course have an amazing husband who takes care of me and has more love for me than anything else in this world who also wants me to be the happiest person I can be. For that, I am grateful! I am so blessed to have a wonderful relationship that consists of respect and patience for one another. I love being in a home that consists of peace and positive feelings!

6 Month Anniversary

Today was the day of our 6 month anniversary date being in our new home. So to our surprise, we had a package at our door from McGarther Homes.... It was a lovely golden bronze throw for our home which just so happens to match our bedroom set PERFECTLY! So here you go, I placed it at the end of our bed so that I can have it when I don't want to be under the covers but maybe have something over my legs! I would totally recommend McGarther Homes to anyone seeking a home builder not only because they are good at what they do but they bend over backwards to make the experience enjoyable! Seriously, what home builder gives you a home welcoming gift when you close, at the 2 month mark and 6 month mark after you closed? Normally, I would have thought you would already be forgotten... Just say'n ;)

Basement Update & Mans Expo~

Now that the gas pipes have been replaced to the proper size needed for our home, the City inspector will finish passing off what has been completed in our basement, YAY! Chris also spent the last 3 weeks putting in his own Cat6 wiring, speaker wire, co axle, etc. throughout the basement and theater room. So this weekend Chris and I have moved on with the next step by looking into fireplaces before we can put in the insulation. :) Chris and I picked a fireplace but I have yet to decide on the look of the exterior. I know I want stone work done with built in Cabinets completing the rest of the wall but how I want the wood work and the type of stone is still in limbo... Grr... At least I have time to research that part!

After we picked the fireplace, Chris and I went up North to the Sandy Expo Center to attend the "Mans Expo" haha! We lasted about 3 hours and it was definitely a Mans Expo along with all the pretty girls running every station lol. We met up with Jason and Cassie after a couples hours when some random guys decided to "compete" with the real body builders that were there. I have to say that is was quit entertaining! Jason and Chris decided to compete in the jousting set up there! I was super impressed with Chris' skills :) We have it on video! Chris was happy to talk about the Texas Holdom tables that were available. That is one addition he will be adding to the basement for a guys night I am sure :) When we left, we decided to have dinner at a Mexican restaurant across the street since none of us had been there before. It was really yummy! I would love to go back if we are going to a Real game or movie at Jordan Commons! Jason and Cassie have been are new spades game partners which finished off the night!

Easter Sunday~

Conference weekend landed on Easter Sunday this year which really helped bring the spirit in the home for this special holiday! As usual, Chris and I spent this weekend with his family at the Draper home! This will be our last time since their home being built in our neighborhood will be ready to close days after my birthday at the end of the month. The whole family has mixed feelings but is over all excited for the change. They all love this home that they have had for the last 6 years now. We all have wonderful memories with holidays, birthday's, Fran's decorating, close friendships, our wedding day and etc. :)

Like last year, Fran and James had an Easter Egg Hunt planned for us kids! I have to admit that I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it haha! It's fun doing kid things! In between Conference sessions Sunday, James and Fran had all of us kids stay downstairs which we did by playing games and pool together before we got the go ahead to run upstairs with our baskets :) After the Egg hunt was over, we had a wonderful Easter dinner made by Fran which included the 24 hour salad I brought hehe! Fran was so kind to share this recipe with me and include me with the holiday meals! It is my all time favorite salad! We did however miss Sara this year :( She has been missed since the Christmas holiday when we all saw her last. It was wonderful to have James in town and to be rejuvenated with the Conference talks spoken this Spring. I have always had a love for Conference since I was in middle school. My parents taught me the importance of the guidance Conference gives to each of us personally. I don't know what I would do without the inspiration these gentleman have for us. Not to mention the family time it creates bringing us all together! Any excuse I can get I will take ;)

Before she's Gone :(

One of my long time girl friends is my dear friend Jennifer. Well, her husband Ryan is finishing up Grad School at BYU and accepted a job located in Texas! Yes, of all places it had to be Texas! So yesterday and today Jenn and I have spent our evenings together at our home and hers before she moves on with the adventures that are ahead. Last night after we picked up a few things at Macy's grocery store, we returned to my place to put together some of Jenn's home made salsa, my famous bean dip for Chris and blended up some Strawberry Daiquiri smoothie drinks while chatting the rest of the night away! One of the most exciting news revealed was that her and Ryan were expecting! This is so exciting and I know that Jennifer will be a wonderful mother! As mentioned before, I then decided to join her tonight after work since Chris was spending the evening with his brother Aaron. Jennifer was babysitting her niece while her sister in law and her husband went to the Temple. It was such a joy watching her little niece! I love seeing young couples grow in their eternal families! I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful friend and example, Jennifer will be surely missed here in Utah :( I have to say that I am sad to see her move but excited for her road trip planned as they make there way over to Texas. Best of Wishes!
