A Christmas of our own~

The last two years of married life, Chris and I chose to also have Christmas separately as husband and wife. We decided this year to celebrate the morning after our return from Florida. I was so surprised to walk in the door late Friday night to see that Santa did not miss our house ;) I have said it before and I will say it again that I am married to the best Santa! I do not know how or when he did it but there were extra presents under the tree and the stockings were filled! It is the little things Chris does that brightens my day and makes me feel special.
When we woke up Saturday morning, Chris and I took our time opening gifts and enjoyed the feelings of the Christmas spirit. Chris surprised me with my own rock climbing gear other than shoes since this has been a new thing that the two of us have enjoyed with our friend Matt from work. We enjoyed the time we had to be together and relax. Afterwords while listening to fun Christmas music, we put together the ginger bread house that Spencer and Natalie Devine gave us. It was our Christmas activity wahoo! Above is a picture of our masterpiece ;0)

Florida Christmas

The wonderful warmth of the Florida coast, and the beautiful company of my wife.

We left Dec.18th, the morning of a huge storm that we just missed to 80 degree weather in Florida! Surprisingly it was a non-busy vacation in Disney World for the few days spent there which none of us could complain about. We saw all of the sights, Cocoa Beach, Disney, Universal, for those tourists out there "Gatorland" and then my mother's dream come true, Christmas at the Grand Floridian Hotel. It was absolutely beautiful! If you were to spend Christmas away from home, this was the place to be. We all agreed however that we missed the traditional stay at home Christmas, but then again how couldn't we pass up skipping the horrible weather experienced in Utah during the month of December. We were able to get our hot chocolate, gather around and listen to the Christmas story while opening a gift and watching the fireworks go off outside our hotel rooms!

Christmas Celebration!

This year we are going to Florida during the Christmas holiday but could not give up the traditional Christmas so tonight for FHE, we celebrated Christmas! It was still not the same since it was after work and not first thing Christmas morning but all day at work I just could not wait to get off and go home to let the celebrations begin with our loved ones!
We started out with our lovely dinner that was prepared by Fran! We pulled out the video camera to capture the night and took pictures of the family before opening gifts. We saved our Christmas story read by James for Christmas Eve.
Chris and I both were so grateful to share in this evening with our family and see the many smiles on every ones faces. I love Christmas and all the love and joy it brings into my life. The opportunity it brings to give to others who are less fortunate. To bake for friends and the chance to teach and feel the spirit of our savior. Like my own parents, James and Fran have taught there children how to serve others and I am so grateful for that! I am grateful to belong to both families that teach the same good principles and teachings of the gospel. I pray that all will feel that love that is so easily done when surrounded by loved ones when there are so many who do not have them near. Chris and I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

A Promotion!!!

Today started out like any other work day. I worked until I was ready for my first 15 min. break around 10:30 and went over to the design department to get Chris. His boss, Lance Card yelled across the way that he needed to talk to him right after his return from break since I already snagged him! I did not think much of it, thinking it was work related.

After our return from the Macy's grocery store to get our usual drinks and snacks I got to my desk and I opened up a new company email that came in. It was on Chris' promotion from a Team Lead to the Supervisor! My first thoughts were not of complete udder excitement but instead..."I can't believe he didn't say anything to his own wife, I was just on break with him and he did not say anything!!!!" So I locked my computer again and marched my way over and said, You did not even tell me!... My poor husband had no idea what I was talking about and I could sense his boss snickering from behind pretending to type away at his desk. Unfortunately, Chris had just been told to read his emails right as I came over since the inter company was already notified. So he read the email but Lance was playing along as if Chris really did know and kept the good news from his own wife lol... If you know Lance then you know there was no way of him passing up this grand opportunity to mess with Chris by stirring things up for a perfectly good marriage knowing that I believed Chris over him anyway lol!

All in all, it was a great day for Chris as everyone congratulated him on his totally unexpected promotion! Chris is a hard hard worker and has so much potential with his dedication and talent. He his a valuable employee and I am grateful that HIT sees what I see in my husband!

Desert Star Theater ~

It is that time of year again that the Whitchurch family takes us all to the Desert Star Theater. This has become a tradition that I really love! This is my third year joining them and they go for FHE sometime in December each year. We order pizza and shakes while watching a musical play! What more can you ask for and they are comedies so it is fun and interactive :) I will want to keep this up for the years to come for sure! I love memories and turning them into traditions :)

Wilson Christmas Party!

This year we had the Wilson Christmas party at Fran and James place so we were right at home! We had a fabulous turn out and Fran sure did throw a good party! This year, Lisa and her family was able to come up from St. George which was a real treat to have everyone! Fran had some real fun activities that got everyone involved. We split all the relatives in half and kept one half upstairs with her and the other half with Chris and I downstairs.
Fran printed and copied out famous people's names so that when each person comes up to the front, they drew a name out of a bowl. Once they picked a name they had to act like them or do something to allow the audience to guess who they are! While Chris and I played clips of songs from different categories such as Christmas songs, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, movies, TV theme songs, etc. The winners for both games received a bucket of candy or lickerish. The games of course was followed by a wonderful Christmas dinner and mingling so relatives were able to leave after the games. Chris and I really enjoyed this time with family at this time of year. We both love the holidays and the joy it brings into our lives. Merry Christmas everyone!

James Bond~

Chris and I were able to go on a double date with our good friends who recently became parents! With the help of Andrea's parents, Dustin and Andrea were able to take a couple hours to eat dinner and see the new James Bond movie! I absolutely LOVE the new James Bond, he did it again and impressed me with the second one he played in! Chris and I were happy to find some time to go on a double in the middle of all the holiday schedules and right before we leave to Florida! Oh I can' wait :)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving this year was held at one of Fran's brother's and I was in charge of bringing the famous green bean casserole dish which turned out wonderful. many complements on using Costco's frozen green beans over the canned green beans.
I miss my family and I always have a hard time not being with them over the holidays since this is two years in a row that I could not make it home but having Chris' family really helps me out a ton. they are just as caring and loving as my own so I do not get home sick so easily. I have many many things to be thankful for and family is one of them along with my wonderful marriage and the gospel that allows us to be together for eternity. Heavenly Father has blessed both Chris and I so so much over the last couple years we have been together. I can't tell you in words the blessings and miracles that have been in place for our relationship and throughout my life.
We had a great time mingling with relatives and filling our tummy's with great food and my favorite stuffing ever was made by Diana! After we ate, we all went to attend a movie at the theatres before going home and eating the pie's Fran had! It was a long fun filled day with family and most of all, my oh so wonderful husband!

Chris' 1st Haircut~

Some still say that I am one brave wife and other's may think I am crazy but I can honestly say that teaching Chris and having him help cut my hair was so fun! I was not nervous at all and I loved the memory this event brings into my life!
I did not have time to set an appointment to have my hair done before Thanksgiving so I asked Chris to help me cut my hair!!! I will always remember this because it made me really chuckle at our communication or lack there of... I asked Chris if he could cut a straight line and cut a inch off the bottom all along and he said sure all confident! As I was watching in the mirror and saw that he was most definitely cutting the straight line I calmly reminded that the hair did get longer in towards the front (because it was an A-line cut). Chris thought to himself "well that is because I haven't cut up front yet" meaning of course it's longer! Ha, well when Chris did not let the front be longer and reminded him again and he said "Oh I thought you meant it was longer because I had not made it to the front yet lol! Well, I was proud to say that it did not bother me in the least bit and we both had fun just shopping off 3-4 inch. instead of 1 inch! I love him to death and this is a prime example of how well we communicate/understand each other!!!
In the end, the haircut turned out fabulous and many many people were so impressed that Chris cut my hair both family and coworkers! I love you so much Chris and again, you continue to impress me with your skills of all kinds ;)

Christmas Decorations~

It's that time of year again! The time that I wait all year for :) Okay, so I may not have been very good at waiting which may be why people are thinking that it is a bit early to pull out the Christmas decorations and on any given normal year, Chris would agree but this year I talked it into him for the reason that we will not be home for half of December to enjoy the Christmas decorations. We will be in Florida this year and Chris and I are super excited but it will also not be the same. To help fix that, we are celebrating early with the Whitchurch family and then Chris and I will do our Christmas when we return from Florida after Christmas.
So we pulled out our decorations and went to town once we pulled out the music and baked some cookies that ended burning since I apparently cant do both at the same time :-/ I was so excited to expand our decorations! We were able to buy a Nativity set from Costco that is absolutely beautiful!!! Chris took on that job and displayed it perfectly on our dinning room table after he set up our tree in the front room. It was pleasant and the music adds to the evening and to my surprise, Chris had already completed my shopping so there were wrapped presents under the tree! He is truly the best Santa I know! Two years in a row he has not failed me :)
I am really excited for this time of year and the peace and joy it brings into my heart! I love having a Nativity scene that reminds me of the true purpose of Christmas!

Halloween~

Chris being in a management position as a Team Lead in the design department at work, he dressed up as a hot snowboarder dude. Not that Chris needed that excuse since Halloween is one of his favorite holiday's ;) Next time I may need to participate and support my husband for moments such as these. Work at some fun costume and soup/chili prizes for the winner's. It was fun to see all the children come through visiting mom or dad at work before they started there trick-or-treating! I really can't wait to develop these memories with our children! I miss so much going out with my siblings and dressing them all up! It was hard not being home with them so Chris and I decided to go spend the evening at his parents place to help Fran pass out candy. Chris gave out most of the candy until it slowed down. Once that trick-or-treater's stopped coming, we ate and watched a movie with James and Fran. What better way to spend your evenings then with family loved ones :)

Grandma & Grandpa Wilson's big day~

Again, these are my favorite times that I look forward to all year every year! All of the family on the Wilson side met at Doug's place for a Open House to celebrate Grandma and Grandpa's birthday. The weather was lovely so we were able to eat outside as well and mingle with all the relatives. I am grateful for all the time that we have had to be with them both here on earth and witness the beautiful family they raised! The turn out was fabulous and Grandma and Grandpa also had many friends stop by which was so very sweet and thoughtful!
I look back and think of what they were like when they were younger and I see all there children all grown with children and see the growth! I also look back and remember the very first time I met them and grandma wanted to know when we were getting married! It was so funny because Chris and I had not even dated a couple months at this point and we were at Joshua's mission farewell. I hope to always remember those times and feelings of acceptance and love that they expressed from the very start. They adore Chris and I am grateful to be apart of the family they started! What a wonderful life this is and Chris has many many wonderful memories with them both! Happy Birthday!!!!

Haunted House ~

This Halloween year, Chris and I went to the Haunted House located in SL off 3300 S. with some of our good friends, Natalie and Spencer. It has been many years since I attended a Haunted House for one reason. I hate being scared!!!!
Chris had a little bit of fun with my nerves throughout the experience to say the least. It all started out with a very very very tall creature dressed in all black who manged to somehow get really low to the ground right behind me while we were waiting to get in. Yes! I could not even make it into the Haunted House before screaming out on the top of my lungs for a short few seconds until I hid my face in Chris' chest. I did not appreciate this start, all I had to do was turn my head to the left to fins that he was level with my face! So that did it for me, I stayed as close to my husband as possible throughout the whole thing until I could finally relax in the car. So all in all, it was a great Haunted House and I was impressed with it all since they accomplished what they intend to do right from the start lol!
It may be quit a few more years in between before I go again.......maybe. I had fun with our friends and they all had fun to but I am not sure that our future kids can really discover how chicken their mother is ha ha!

Little Cotton Wood

This evening we decided to get outside and play with the camera. In a heart beat Chris was on board the moment I told him that I would like to learn more about taking pictures! This is a passion of Chris' :) He loves photography and he would like for us to grow together and find interests that we both enjoy doing together. I would love to learn everything Chris knows! He is so brilliant! Working together has already helped our relationship so much! We love spending 24 hours together and to finish work at work and then get in the zone of being husband and wife when we leave the building! I have grown so much and I have been able to develop a greater understanding of what Chris does and will do to provide for me and our future family.

This turned into more of a beautiful drive through Little Cotton Wood Canyon because it was getting cold quick and the sun was going down. I spotted a little water fall/creek so we decided to pull over and take some pictures there! I love water! Everything about it I love! I wish I could hear the sound of water all the time! So I took some fun pictures of the running water down the fall and some leaves. This is my favorite time of the year! The Fall!!! I love wearing scarfs and light jackets, the feel of the brisk cool air and the beautiful colors :) After we took turns playing with the camera we decided to set the camera on some rocks and have a picture taken of us for the holidays as you can see above!

Dinner date!

Chris and I had a lovely evening with our friends, Jennifer and Ryan. Jennifer spent the evening preparing for our arrival by making a delicious curry meal with rice for dinner! We have had India food together and Jennifer took it to the next level by preparing it herself! This has been one of several occasions that we have met for dinner and catch up on life. I wish I took the time to learn how to better cook for my husband. With this new job, we are spending most of the little free time I had working overtime. Though I have much to learn, I am grateful for her example! We thoroughly enjoyed dinner with our friends following a good time playing some card games before the night got too late. I continue to feel so grateful for Jennifer's wonderful friendship. She has been so kind and thoughtful throughout the years from when we first lived together back in 2003. I will forever remember all the good memories we have together and I continue to look forward to the memories to come.

Repelling the Narrows~

Over the weekend, Chris and I had this grand opportunity to go repelling down the Narrows at Zions National Park. I can't even describe the freezing cold temperature we experienced trucking through the water!
We started our drive down to St. George Friday evening after work and arrived around 10pm at the town house we were all staying at. There were 9 of us on this trip from people at work and or relatives of Matt's. We all just ate and chatted as we met one by one at the town house and eventually went to bed. Due to our late night, we did not get started as early as we had hoped so it was about 1pm by the time we checked out, loaded up with gas, drove to the top of the Narrows and began our hike down for the next 7 hours.
It was so nice and the weather was perfect! Not to hot and not to cold until the little sun we had left came to an end due to the tall rocks blocking most of the beaming sun. The whole first half of the hike was super fun and dry! We first repelled down a 130+ ft. drop followed by several smaller 40+ ft. drops. It was my first time and I was so proud of my husband and I for making it. We were like pros LOL! Okay maybe it was just the lack of fear in me. I love heights! Matt had Chris be the lead repel guide so he always went first so Matt could stay behind and help everyone down.
The entire second half of the hike down the Narrows was after the sun disappeared and in the coldest water I have ever felt in my life time!!! There was one drop that we could not repel down. There was this pool of water so we stopped and put everything in our waterproof packs such as our gear and camera's etc. One by one we had to toss our packs in the pool of water and jump in after it and swim to the side! Oh my heck! There was no getting warm at this point! We all did our best to dry off and de clothe what we could to avoid the wet cotton clothes on our backs! Matt was so kind to let me use a coat that was made out of this sleeping bag material that worked wonders for my upper body! It quickly got dark at this point so we finished the last hour and a half in the dark. It was hard because we were also still in water! My muscles at this point never relaxed and they were now at the point of not functioning with what my brain was trying to tell them ha ha!
Oh how happy Chris and I were when we reached the end which ended up being super familiar. It was the part we were at a few weeks prior LOL. At this point we all took the shuttle bus to the main entrance where we left one of the vehicles. Chris and I were so so worn and so cold that the first thing we wanted to do was go to our nice warm bed at home! So that was what we did. While Matt and one of the other guys went to get the truck, the rest of the crew went to a place in Zions to eat! After we filled our tummy's with some food, Chris and I drove back home! So much for camping! Ha, I was so grateful though because I woke up the most sore and stiff person alive! It felt so so good to shower up and snuggle up in our nice warm bed :)

Josh's Homecoming!

I love love love family gatherings such as these! What a wonderful opportunity it is for family to come from all over and support a return missionary :)

Indeed without failure, the Wilson's and Whitchurch's have been so supportive and we had a grand turnout! Josh did so well with his talk in church. Josh is so humorous and very naturally comfortable with speaking. At least that was the appearance. I also could not help but think how much apart of the family I already was and he only really new me for a couple months before he left and now he has a sister n law that has been married to his brother for a year now. I could not believe how fast the time went!

I am so grateful for Chris and the example he set for his two younger brother's who followed by serving missions. What a joy and what growth comes form serving a mission. I am grateful for the example that this will all have for their children, our children to come. I have two very wonderful families and I couldn't imagine ever being without either one. It was so fun for me to look back at where we all were when Josh left in comparison to his return! I can't wait for our friendship to grow and for the opportunity Chris has to bond more with his brother's now that they are all around the same stage in life!

Welcome home Josh and way to go!

India Fest

I made it through my first week of work! Chris and I are loving it so far and we are thrilled if it works out! Today, we joined my manager, Matt and one of my friends Jennifer at the India Fest in Spanish Fork!

I loved how good of a friend Chris has been for Matt while he deals with the difficulties life can bring. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him in person. Matt wore is Monk robs and talked to us a lot about some of the beliefs shared. I really enjoyed the yummy food and the music/dancing! I was also happy to have Jennifer with us! How nice it was for her to escape for a but while her husband Ryan was surrounded by loads of homework. I loved this opportunity because it was all new to me and it pulled me away from my everyday life :)

Above are a couple pics of some dancing!

First day at Heritage Web Design

So here I am! Chris and I went through my crash course and yesterday I came in for my "interview" with Matt who was over Tech Support and Updates. I had heard so much of Matt but I had only met him twice before at the summer company parties. I new Chris really enjoyed his friendship and wanted us to hang out with him more but that was about it. The pressure was on for me since I new I was in Chris' territory. Everyone thought so highly of my husband and like everyone, he was totally adored a work. Now I am here and I am the complete opposite of Chris in the "computer world."
The interview went well and it was a joke at the same time! I practically bypassed HR until they forced an interview after I was hired? At that point, I thought I made it through but then I was set for the typing test and the other quiz to figure out just ho much I really new. Well, to say the least, I impressed management since there expectations were set so low LOL! They were just hoping that I could type 5 wpm and to say the least, I was able to exceed ha ha! I then had lunch with all of the managers and one of the owners of the company experiencing a few laughs and off I went to take my pee test to make sure I don't do drugs LOL! It was great because I had the rest of the day to run errands and pick up my last check and etc. before I needed to start work as the new Updates Admin tomorrow morning.
When Chris came home, he was the happiest boy alive! He finally got his wife to come into his world and we had this grand opportunity to spend so much more time together!

Last day at Central

After our return from New York, I was so dreading the return for work Monday morning :( I worked at Central for nearly 3 years and was so done with the unhappy customer's and the boredom that made my 10 hour work days drag out for eternity. Especially when they removed my lunch since everyone dreaded covering for me. Yes, that will tell you a little about how hard it was to put on a happy face while the customer's are screaming at you because someone hit them which caused such an inconvenience and/or they hit someone which costs them an arm and a leg that they don't have.
Don't get me wrong, I loved it for the first year and a half - two years when all the great people were still around the office but the atmosphere quickly turned when I was the last LDS person there. I soon had a hard time working with the employees that I could not relate to in any way shape or form and carried such a negative vibe with them. It was easy to take on the beating from the customer's when you had the coworkers backing you up with a positive atmosphere but once everyone turned so negative, it was so hard for me to want to continue working at Central.
I feel that it was such a blessing for me to be let go for reasons that a should not say to benefit the company. I still have respect for my manager and the owner of the company which was why I could not bare leaving until they did not need me any longer. The car industry is so bad with the fall of the economy and they paid me really good so I new that I would be one of the first cuts in the company when they could so easily pay a girl $9-10 an hour to do what I did. Even then, I could not have left them until they made the decision so I am again so happy to be released from that burden and begin with a new environment!
Right after I was let go, I called Chris to tell him, it was crazy cause I told him on a break early that morning that I hated being back but I felt that I was going to be done with it. Anyway, he comforted me and was happy for me since he new I did not like work. He told his friend Matt who was another Manager at Heritage that I was now jobless so he said that he would hire me today! I was so so nervous because Chris has been trying to get me there for a year now but I was so unsure of the whole working together thing. I hated the thought that it would be hard on our marriage and I also did not want to let him or our friend Matt down with my lack of computer skills. Chris told me that the moment us working together begins to not work he would let me look elsewhere but loved every thought of having us car pool together and have lunch together! I then said okay, but I had to take a crash course from Chris this very night before I came in to work the following day for the interview. So here we go..........

N.Y.C. Trip

We are on our way to NYC, the BIG APPLE. The flight was long, and the airplane food was bland, but the trip was fantastic.

We were all heading eastward to pick up Joshua, my brother who was wrapping up his mission.
We stayed downtown in Time Square at the Marriott, which was more than luxurious, :)

Alana found her true style in fashion while spending time in New York. I saw her spend more money in New York than I had ever seen her spend in a shopping spree. We were both real happy about the outfits she selected, and we both loved being around so many people.

In our many Taxi cab rides, we experienced one, crazy driver. Who would run anyone over if he had the chance. Our parents and us drove in separate cabs and our driver got us their in half the time. Driving inner city at 60 MPH, with the speed limit of 30. Alana felt like we were truly in the movies as we were slung side to side in the back seat of the Taxi. It was more the splendid.

Our experience in seeing Josh again was a fun memory for the whole family. Josh was just his usual self, loving kind, and entertaining.

We were able to see all of the sights. The NYC temple, Grand Central Station, the Statue of Liberty, and even 'Wicked' the Broadway play.

Check out the NY video, for a preview of our trip.

1 Year Anniversary

Alana and I spent our 1 year Anniversary down south in St George, and in Zion's National Park.
We dipped our feet and enjoyed the warm sunlight (whatever sunlight we could get with those tall canyon walls).
Our cousin just returned home from Romania, and seemed a little culture shocked to come back to our usual conveniences.

You may say that I look sad, but actually it is my attempt to make the "sexy face" which Alana loves, but I apparently have some work to do, possibly more pucker.

We both love hiking, climbing, and taking adventures. We invite anyone that wants to join us to tag along when we head towards the mountains.

Family Fun

Today we were suppose to get together for the Wilson family reunion held every year at the Cabin. Only we had to change it up a bit when the Canyon closed the morning of from a forest fire at the mouth of the Canyon :(

None the less Chris and I still had a fun day spent with his immediate family! James and Fran provided a great BBQ lunch. We brought the horseshoe golf game which everyone seemed to really enjoy! After we finished playing the game we all ended up swimming! Annie had just done her hair so she did not want to participate, but it didn’t stop her from being the first to end up in the pool. James and Chris thought it was a great idea to throw her in, and it was! We all enjoyed playing games in the pool!

Company Party

The company Chris works for officially announced their name change to Heritage Internet Technologies (hit) They were given a new hat and T-shirt with the new logo! Friday evening Heritage “hit” provided a fun filled party for all employee’s and their families!

The party was located at Lion’s Park in Provo, UT like last year. They had all the amazing prizes and great food/ BBQ for dinner! To add to the fun they had inflatable items for jousting, boxing, etc.

Chris and I couldn’t pass up the chance to joust and box! It was a great opportunity for us to share our overflowing love for each other :)

Shortly after it was Chris’ turn to enter the dunk tank as did all the other managers at Heritage. I suppose it was the once in a life time chance for the employees to get back at their managers! As for me, not being an employee did not stop me from jumping into the line to dunk my oh so wonderful husband!!! Chris and I had so much fun! It brought back great memories of our dating when Chris had to get back at me with some water balloons!

July 24th

Yes, July 24th is a holiday here in Utah. Meaning I only worked till noon! I didn’t want to do much without my husband but that doesn’t mean I couldn’t enjoy myself. I decided to take advantage of the nice summer weather by swimming at our pool, listening to music and catching some rays!

When Chris came home we went over to have dinner with James and Fran. It was fun to see their video of their trip to Canada! They got Chris a belt and a pretty necklace for myself! Did we tell you that the week before James went to Latvia (for business as well). He gave the boys all pocket knifes and us girls some beautiful earrings!

When Aaron and Jaleese arrived the six of us all went bowling. The boys won and girls lost, so us girls became the slaves for the night :( So sad I know.

Draper Days and the Dark Knight

Hello everyone, today was an early day, Alana and I went to the Draper Days parade (which is more of an event to advertise, we decided).

It was fun, nonetheless. We ate a couple of pieces of taffy, and took every flier that came our way. My (Chris’) parents are out in Canada at the moment, traveling back to New York before they fly in tomorrow. Dad was away on business and mom decided to go with him, since he will be gone for quite some time this year with his travels.

After the Draper Parade we went to The Dark Night, and might I tell you that the movie was crazy, I mean to say that the movie caused me to be so emotionally involved, that I think that I may be a little messed up, in the HEAD! So if you see me anytime soon, and you ask me why I have a smile, I just might have to show you why!!! ha HA HA HA HA!……….

Alana and I then decided to go swimming and sit down at the pool to collect some sun, now moving onto Draper Days festivals. It is held at Draper Park which will be presenting a stream of fireworks later this evening. Alana and I really enjoy being around people, even if it includes being cooped up in a black box watching a movie. We will enjoy being around the crowd this evening at the park, the stars of Beatlemania will be playing! Alana is real excited to hear them play, she loves her music and we may just take a picture if we are lucky.

At the end of this post, I would like to add that I just gave myself a haircut, a #3 on the buzsaw…

Alana went to school learning to cut hair, and so when I cut it myself it may have not been the best decision. She definitaly does a way better job!

ReAL Salt Lake Game

I received a phone call yesterday at work from our good friend Natalie Devine. She was given 4 free VIP tickets to the ReAL game last night and wanted us to join her and her husband Spencer! I was all in before I had the chance to tell Chris! I had no idea there was so much action in soccer. They say that if the fighting continued they would of stopped the game! Who new! We were so excited and had so much fun, I am afraid we set a new expectation for us :s We felt so spoiled! We took the elevator to our own box shared with 4 others. We had all you can eat dinner and drinks. Ice cream was given for desert! I felt we had the best seats in the whole stadium, especially for the firework show after the game! Most beautiful fireworks I have seen yet!

All in all it was great fun and I can’t wait to do it again! Thanks for the invite Spencer and Natalie!

Day of Shopping

Today we did nothing but shop!

We went to the NPS store in Salt Lake, shopped at Fashion Place, Gateway, and Best Buy.
We had a great time, in the warm weather. Alana picked up a new pair of Versace sunglasses which make her look even HOTTER. I mean, she is hot, but it was fun for her to get her “fancy pancy” sunglasses.

Then Alana went to get her long hair chopped off and added some blond highlights! Talk about a surprise! It added a whole new look to her, I love the change. She’s my HOT wife, :)

The 4th of July

The fourth of July was a little interesting to say the least.

We saw Hancock, and it was not quite what we expected it to be. A little more on the “boring” side of things. I do not recommend it.

After the movie was when things spiced up a bit! We went back to Chris’ parents home to enjoy a great BBQ dinner with some long time friends. Then most everyone followed Chris’s footsteps and jumped in the pool! They had a great time swimming.

When our family friends parted ways Chris and I decided to buy fireworks! You know, to make a show of our own! After all, Chris did do his first Firework show in Herriman with his Uncle Tom last weekend! I was so proud to watch the show knowing that Chris was behind it all! I do have to admit that watching Chris and his siblings take charge of lighting the fireworks at home was great fun for me too! I just sat back and enjoyed the show with James and Fran. Right before we lite our fireworks we had watched some video of the kids when they were ever so young and James was lighting the fireworks. So it was fun to see the table change!

Pool Party :)

Chris and I decided to throw a pool party for our primary class if they read half the BofM wither it be with there family or by themselves. Well they held there part of the bargain and so we threw them all a Pool Party and BBQ at the Whitchurch's home. They loved the slid and diving board with all the food they could eat!
It has been a good experience for Chris and I to teach our primary class together even though I still do not like teaching in front of Chris since he does so much better then I. Chris is so good at entertaining the kids and keeping there interest! He will be good with our future children, that's all I can say! I will be the one who lays down the law ha ha ;)

The big 26!

I wanted to take a minute to wish the love of my life a wonderful Happy Birthday! The last 2 years have been the best couple years I have ever had. I love how you make me laugh! You can see in the Birthday picture the kind of character you are which brings me much happiness! I hope this next year will be full of good choices and health so that you can be all that you wish to be. I can't help but feel so grateful to be your wife and future mother of your children. I love you dearly and pray that you know how important you are in my life.

Stan is here!

Today Stan was able to make a quick stop to stay with Chris and I overnight! It was short but we loved having him over! Stan and a couple friends showed up while John, Chris and I were in a movie at Jordon Commons in Sandy so we met there. Then we were able to get them some food and the boys played the xbox before getting some good nights rest. I made breakfast and off they went to Ohio to work for the summer while John came up to SL with me and I dropped him off at work before I went to work. I love every chance I have to be with family even if it is short visit. I was happy to give them all a place to sleep :)

Scottish Festival Year #2

This year is our second year attending the Scottish Festival! We love making this a tradition for the years to come! We had our root beer mug from last year and purchased a second this year since we also had my brother John with us :)

Unfortunately our Scottish tribe (Gun tribe) was not there but our enemy was ha ha! We still had fun in the sun! I loved eating the curly fries, turkey legs and ice cream cones while watching the games and listening to the bag pipes and the Wicked Tinkers play! It was perfect weather and we spotted the Devine family while looking at the big swords etc. It was the Devine's that invited us the previous year and we are grateful since we plan to go every year here on out!

Goblin Valley Camping Trip!

After the long day spent at Spencer and Natalie's wedding, we decided to go camping over the weekend so we packed and left early Saturday morning to Goblin Valley! I have never been and it had been years since Chris has been there. I love love love road trips with my husband! I think he likes having me open up during the car ride and creating memories together!
We decided to go hike Bell Canyon and Little Horse canyon! It was super fun and I loved every part except for the part we had to jump over a dead deer that was partly eaten. I would have to say that I was then a little nervous in running into a cougar. It would be perfect territory for them to trap their food since they could leap on us from the top of the canyon rocks but all is good and we made it through safe! We started with Bell and went into Little Horse that was filled with some water. What a way to add to our adventure ;)
Once we finished our hike that took most of the daylight, we made camp and Chris warmed up some good dinner! We had a beautiful view and it was all to ourselves! I love getting away from the day to day busy life style to slow down and enjoy the beauty Utah has to offer!
Day #2 Chris and I had some eggs and packed camp. We drove over to Goblin Valley and walked around a bit before we drove back home!

Thank you Chris for the wonderful adventure and another memory to add to our journey together!
